Globally Recognized as Advocates for Justice

The Smith Law Firm is a nationally and internationally recognized firm due to its success and ingenuity, having initiated and litigated class action lawsuits and newly recognized torts. Allen Smith founded the Smith Law Firm, PLLC in 2007, and since its inception has fought for those injured and killed by defective products or wronged by major corporations.

The Smith Law firm started talcum powder and ovarian cancer litigation, filing the first case in South Dakota in 2009. Since that time, the Smith Law Firm has served as lead counsel on every talc and ovarian cancer case in the United States and Canada. One of Allen’s greatest honors has been fighting on behalf of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer due to genital talc use.

Our Team Listens

The Smith Law Firm’s success is due in part to Allen and his teams’ willingness to listen to feedback from clients or contacts about wrongs committed by corporations and initiate litigation to correct these wrongs and compensate for these otherwise preventable injuries.

As a trailblazer in the legal community, there is no corporation too big or too powerful for the Smith Law Firm to take on if an injustice has occurred. As one of the best products liability firms, the Smith Law Firm has received nearly one billion dollars in trial verdicts for its clients.

The Smith Law Firm has also received the distinct honor of Best Law Firms by U.S. News and World Report. Additionally, the Attorney General of the State of Mississippi selected the Smith Law Firm to represent Mississippi against corporations that have injured Mississippi citizens.

Verified: DustUp Podcast

Allen’s story of discovering talc and ovarian cancer litigation against Johnson & Johnson was produced into a multi-series podcast entitled “Verified: Dust Up”, and received critical acclaim.

In the podcast “Verified: Dust Up,” Host Natasha Del Toro and the Verified team ask tough questions about whom we trust and why. This podcast reviews Allen Smith’s investigation of and first trial against Johnson & Johnson and the company’s failure to warn the public of the dangers of its talcum baby powder.

NBC News

On July 30, 2017, Allen appeared on NBC News, “Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly” – Talc on Trial

Kate Snow reports on the heated debate over talc, the main ingredient in baby power, which some believe can increase the risk of ovarian cancer. In the 18 months leading up to the interview, juries have ordered Johnson & Johnson to pay more than $300 million in damages while the company, which is appealing, insists their product is safe.

Toxic Beauty Movie

Toxic Beauty is a critically acclaimed documentary feature film with exclusive access to scientists, lawyers, advocates, regulators, politicians, a dynamic whistle blower, survivors and women who have lost their lives to ovarian cancer. Allen is featured as the lead attorney for talc litigation.  The film follows the lawsuits against Johnson & Johnson and the plaintiffs’ personal stories of women fighting for justice in a race against time with this deadly disease.
